Canadian Journal of Environmental Education Call for Papers

Following multiple years of special topic volumes, the Canadian Journal of Environmental Education (CJEE) editorial team is pleased to make an open call for papers for Volume 26.

We are seeking submissions that represent the leading edge of the field of environmental education scholarship. Since our last open call for papers in 2019, the world has undergone significant change and faced multiple crisis level challenges: pandemic disease, war, environmental degradation and an active and increasing climate emergency. But, in the face of immense challenge, opportunities have emerged: possibilities for slower life and work pace (for some), evidence that radical action for global change is possible when collective political will is activated, a more intersectional understanding of justice across social systems, and growing interest and increased evidence of the benefits of outdoor and environmental education related to wellbeing.

Each of these positive and negative exemplars have implications for the environment and environmental education. In Volume 26, we seek an array of papers that navigate the landscape of environmental education from a diversity of approaches and directions. While we point to global events of the past two years as possible inspiration for submissions, this is truly an open call for papers. As always, we favour papers with relevance to Canadian environmental education contexts, with a recognition that the Canadian context is dynamically situated within and interacts with the broader global scope of environmental education.

Submissions for Volume 26 will be accepted from January 15th, 2023 until March 15, 2023. Please review our author guidelines when preparing your submission. Papers may be submitted at the included link.

In your submission, please indicate the names of 3-4 potential reviewers for your paper. CJEE is actively seeking reviewers. Please consider becoming a reviewer for CJEE by emailing cjee.editors@nipissingu.ca, or by appending a comment to your article submission.
