Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science

February 11 is International Day of Women and Girls in Science—a day to celebrate the achievements of women in STEM fields and inspire future innovators, scientists, and changemakers in your classroom.
To mark this occasion, Wild Classroom is teaming up with Exploring by the Seat of Your Pants for a special livestream series featuring WWF scientists and experts. Throughout the day, hear from inspiring women as they share their conservation work and explore the important role science has in protecting nature.
View any of these fantastic learning opportunities by visiting Wild Classroom’s event page within Exploring by the Seat of Your Pants. Each session is 45 minutes and includes a presentation from the expert and a Q&A with students. Recordings of the livestream events are now available on the Wild Classroom’s event page.

With women making up less than 30% of the STEM workforce and girls often facing barriers to pursuing science careers, events like this are critical in fostering interest and representation.
For those who attended, what were your key takeaways? How did your students engage with the sessions? We'd love to hear how this experience sparked discussions about women in STEM and conservation!
