Wendell Berry encouraged us not to find a "better" place, but to make the place we are better.
Working as a behavioral health technician has shown me the benefits of nature and healing. With a wide variety of professional education I feel comfortable guiding people through nature while explaining our need for connection with the natural world.
Hi! I’m Jammica, nice to meet’cha! I’m a proud Norfolk resident, Urban Ag advocate and Environmental Steward. I’m passionate about our planet and have worked in the “green” field for about 10 years as a Regional Environmental Outreach & Education Coordinator, an Environmental Marketing Rep as well as an enthusiastic volunteer. I currently work for Keep Norfolk Beautiful. I'm a member of the Norfolk Food Policy Council, a FEAST VA facilitator, a K.U.S.P volunteer, and I'm on the board of directors at The Fred Heutte Center in Norfolk, VA. I'm also a Master Gardener Volunteer with the Virginia Cooperative Extension program and I help work on projects with the non profit Support & Feed organization. I enjoy healthy eating, gardening, learning about innovative environmental and agricultural techniques and educating kids about the environment while opening their eyes to the immense opportunities awaiting them in the agricultural career space. It is also my absolute purpose and promise to help make Norfolk Virginia THE greenest city on the East Coast.

8th grade science teacher in Missouri. I am a Missouri Master Naturalist and volunteer for many local organizations doing citizen science and environmental education.
My growth in the field of environmental education continued to evolve when I stepped into a role as a part time school garden educator in the spring of 2021 followed by a full time role as an outdoor educator in fall of 2022 at my current k-8 private school, GSES. At the time, I was unfamiliar with Outdoor Education as a content area since it did not exist in the previous schools in which I taught, but soon discovered that it was my calling. I dove right in and I am currently the Director of Outdoor Education, the teacher sponsor for Eco Club, the school garden guru, summer camp instructor and the junior group coordinator for a neighborhood community association called Friends of Forest Hill Park (FFHP).
As a passionate conservationist and educator with years of experience, I have worked in varying aspects of conservation ranging from Environmental Permitting for the private sector to Conservation Research on South Africa's fauna.
