Bashiru Koroma has over 12 years of experience in Conservation Leadership, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Ecotourism Destination Management, Environmental Health (water, sanitation and waste management) and Climate Justice Activism. Bashiru is a Mandela Washington Fellow for Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) trained in Leadership in Public Management from the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies and Jeb. E Brooks School of Public Policy, Cornell University. Bashiru is also a United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) MENTOR-PACE Fellow. Bashiru holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in Environmental Sciences (Environment and Development option) from Njala University, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the African Leadership University School of Business (ALUSB), Conservation Leadership Pathway from the School of Wildlife Conservation (SOWC), African Leadership University and a Master of Public Health (MPH) specialized in Environmental Health from Njala University. Bashiru has a wealth of experience working with Local Community Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Private sector institutions and Research institutions, helping programs and projects transition to a more sustainable practice. Bashiru has served as the Deputy Focal Person for the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) Sierra Leone Chapter , Product Planning and Development Officer at the National Tourist Board Sierra Leone, focusing on the initiation and implementation of National Tourism policies, programs and projects in Sierra Leone and as Community Ecotourism Outreach Officer for the Environmental Foundation for Africa (EFA) . Bashiru was involved in the development of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for Sierra Leone, .
