2025 eeBLUE Aquaculture Literacy Mini-Grants Virtual Symposium

Date and time: August 28, 2025 at 2 PM ET
You’re invited to join the NOAA Office of Education, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), the National Sea Grant Office, and NAAEE for a virtual symposium that spotlights the work of grantees from the eeBLUE Aquaculture Literacy Mini-Grants Program. This event brings together a series of community-rooted projects focused on aquaculture literacy.
The symposium will feature an overview from the program evaluator who will share insights across all the projects. Then, each grantee will give a short presentation about their work: what they did, their impact, and what's next.
If you're curious about how aquaculture shows up in education, how community engagement can look in practice, or you just want to hear what others are trying out, we'd love to have you join us.
With the eeBLUE Aquaculture Literacy Mini-Grant program, NAAEE is driving significant change for a second time! We are supporting partnerships with the common goal of aquaculture literacy set by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office of Education, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), and the National Sea Grant Office. The nine mini-grants awarded catalyze innovative educational experiences focused on aquaculture topics and promote public aquaculture literacy in eight states. These grants empower informal learning institutions (like aquariums), the aquaculture industry (such as shellfish, finfish, and seaweed farmers), and NOAA partners to make a tangible impact on our understanding of aquaculture. From "Agriculture in Aquaculture” to "Empowering Ocean Stewards," these grantees are helping to support a blue planet!
