Molly Lauer is a Silver Spring, MD-based science educator, curriculum designer, and professional development consultant with more than 20 years of experience building learning programs that connect people — students, teachers, and communities — to science in meaningful ways.
Molly's environmental education roots run deep. As a high school biology teacher at Manheim Township High School in Lancaster, PA (2004–2011), she led stream ecology field studies with students in local watersheds, integrating place-based investigation into her biology and physical science courses. At César Chávez PCS in Washington, DC (2011–2014), she taught Earth Science and served as Science Instructional Lead. There she also organized and led the school's Pollution Project watershed day — a hands-on, field-based environmental investigation bringing students into direct contact with local waterways.
Since 2014, Molly has worked as an independent STEM education consultant, specializing in K–12 science curriculum development, teacher professional learning, and program management for complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives. Her consulting has included project management for Discovery Education's national STEM Academy program, curriculum development across multiple districts, and facilitation of 114+ professional development sessions reaching educators across 45+ districts in 15 states. She holds a B.S. in Biology Education from Elizabethtown College and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (Science Education) from Penn State, earned summa cum laude.
Molly is currently pursuing MWEE Ambassador and Facilitator credentials and is actively developing environmental literacy professional development programming for districts in the Chesapeake Bay region. She is also the founder of STEM Camp for Littles, an inquiry-based science program for K–5 learners in the Washington, DC metro area.
She is available for consulting engagements in learning design, professional development facilitation, and science education program development. www.mollylauer.com
