Youth Community Change Makers: A CEE-Change Fellowship Project

Youth Community Change Makers: NAAEE CEE-Change Fellowship Project Webinar on July 7

About the Webinar

Join Wisconsin educator Lalitha Murali to learn how she empowered students to develop a water conservation project and become change makers in their community, as part of about her NAAEE CEE-Change Fellowship project. Every year, hundreds of Glen Hills students visit the local Milwaukee River to do water testing, biotic index, and participate in the river-cleanup. This year, for their NAAEE Project, they wanted to take on the leadership role and participate in a couple of activities to educate our community and younger students about protecting our environment and how to be a responsible citizens.

Glen Hills Students participated in a series of events to educate others about environmental sustainability, clean water, water testing, and also participated in the river cleanup and school yard cleanup activities. The group hoped that by participating in these activities and doing water testing experiments, they will have educated others about the environmental problems, develop critical thinking, and coding skills. The Glen Hills students are the Lake Michigan Champion of Conservation Award Recipients.
