Engaging K–12 Students on Climate Change & More

The WorldWide Teach-In on Climate and Justice offers weekly professional development webinars on teaching climate for non-experts every Wednesday at 10 AM and 9 PM Eastern Time. Topics vary each week, so see below for upcoming webinars’ descriptions, registration links and other resources:

1. Webinar: Engaging K–12 Students on Climate Change with National Wildlife Federation & Write The World

  • When: Wednesday, November 16 | 10 AM and 9 PM Eastern Time
  • Did you know that K–12 students in the U.S. only receive an average of 2 hours of climate change education per year? National Wildlife Federation and Bard College’s Graduate Programs in Sustainability launched #Teach10Hours4Climate to increase the amount of time that K–12 students learn about the climate crisis to ten hours over the school year. Emily A. Fano, Senior Education Manager at National Wildlife Federation in New York City, will introduce this critical campaign and present our Teach10Hours4Climate Guide to help you make climate education an integral part of your teaching, no matter the subject.
  • We will also be joined by Write The World, a global platform for teenage writers to improve their climate advocacy through critical thinking and communication skills. Liza Cochran, Senior Project Manager, will discuss how Write the World helps students to improve their writing skills.
