My experience as a classroom educator has given me a deep familiarity with the tools and processes of learning while inspiring me to master and embrace problem-solving and community-building. Ultimately, I value relationships, and I am passionate about helping others to meet their needs, plan for the future, and expand their possibilities.

Prior to joining Ewald Consulting as a Professional Development Specialist, I spent ten years as a middle school English Language Arts teacher alongside three years as a Visitor Services Representative at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, I graduated cum laude from Saint Olaf College. I am a Minnesota Master Naturalist volunteer at The University of Minnesota Raptor Center and am completing my Master of Arts in Education: Natural Science and Environmental Education (MA Ed: NSEE) at Hamline University. A published short story author and avid birder, I currently live in Saint Paul, Minnesota with my wife, Nora, our three-legged rescue dog, Nemo, and our four chickens: Maria, Liesl, Brigitta, and Marta.
