Cyberchase Celebrates Earth Month with Educator Resources, Family Activities and All-New Episodes

Cyberchase kids

This Earth Month, Cyberchase—The WNET Group’s multiplatform Emmy-award winning math and environmental literacy series on PBS KIDS for children ages 6-8 is offering a suite of new media resources designed to spark conversations about sustainability, conservation and environmental stewardship.

In Cyberchase, Matt, Inez, Jackie and their cyber-pal Digit use brainpower, math skills and environmental science to tackle challenges across Cyberspace. Learn more at https://pbskids.org/cyberchase.

Two new Earth Month-themed episodes, “Fix It Time!” and “Leave the Leaves” begin streaming April 17 on PBS KIDS and the official Cyberchase YouTube channel . A special Cyberchase premiere on broadcast follows on April 18 at 7:00 PM as part of PBS KIDS Family Night Weekend (check your local listings).

Episode Descriptions

In “Fix It Time!”, the CyberSquad investigates a growing trash problem in Botsburg, where scooters are mysteriously breaking down and being thrown away. Using math, teamwork and problem-solving, they uncover the cause and help launch a community Fix-It Clinic, highlighting how repair and reuse can reduce waste and conserve resources.

In “Leave the Leaves”, the villainous Hacker transforms a healthy park into a perfectly manicured space for his pet Smirble BB, only to find that she hates it. With the help of the CyberSquad, he learns why biodiversity matters and how healthy ecosystems support all living things, even Smirbles.

Together, these episodes encourage children to think critically about waste, habitats, and the environment through humor, adventure, and practical lessons about how small actions can make a difference.

Educator Resources

To extend the learning beyond the screen, Cyberchase also offers companion activities, and printables for families, educators, and out-of-school learning settings. These resources give kids even more opportunities to explore STEM concepts through hands-on discovery and play.  For elementary classroom teachers, check out the Cyberchase environmental science collection on PBSLearningMedia.

For more hands-on fun, Green It Up! features a suite of activities for children ages 6–8 that builds STEM skills and empowers kids to take action in their communities. Find group activities and printables like a Nature Poetry Builder, Planting Puzzle, Nature Walk Notebook, and recycled newspaper planters.

We invite you to share these companion activities with educators, families and environmental learning communities looking for age-appropriate Earth Month resources.
