My love for the outdoors began when I was a small child, exploring the creek in our backyard with my grandmother and going camping with the Boy Scouts with my father and little brother. I have been working in environmental education since graduating from Georgia Tech in 2009 with a degree in Applied Biology. Since then, I have worked in a variety of education positions, from interning at the Oregon Zoo to teaching a middle school STEM elective to managing camps at the Museum of Life and Science. My goal is to be able to work full time in a position connecting people with their own environments.

Born, raised and educated in central Minnesota’s rolling farmland, with plenty of opportunities to explore the land of over ten thousand lakes. While earning my bachelors degree in education I explored the prairies near the University of Minnesota, Morris. Student teaching near the rich table top fields of the Red River Valley. Bike riding the bluffs of Rochester. Kayaking the pristine Lake Superior and cross country skiing the trails of the boundary waters canoe area. The vast variety in the beauty of the four distinct seasons.  Recently transplanted in North Carolina with renewed joy of exploring the tar heel state from ocean beaches to mountain top views.
