Land Talk

Land Talk (www.landtalk.org) is a simple digital storytelling platform for students to learn about and document landscape change in locations around the world. A younger person interviews an older "observer" who has known a location for at least 20 years, asking them to report on changes they have observed in that place. Students post an account of the interview on the website, documenting our changing planet through the experiences of everyday citizens.

The goals of Land Talk are to promote environmental education through communication between generations, to validate and display the observations of ordinary people, and to create an educational tool for learning about regional differences in changing landscapes.

The site organizers are developing K-12 lesson plans and invite others, especially environmental educators, to contribute their own ideas, lesson plans and classroom activities around Land Talk content.
