Hello! My name is Danielle Klein, I am the founder and Executive Director of the ButterBee Foundation. I am a certified teacher that is dedicated to providing engaging cross-curricular content to learners in grades K-12. Before creating the ButterBee Foundation I was a classroom educator, working at an urban elementary school. My classroom included students from a wide variety of backgrounds, with an even wider range of needs. It was nearly impossible to support every student on my own. This realization is what led me to begin ButterBee Foundation. It started with a single grant written to bring outdoor education experiences to my urban students and has metamorphosized into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to bring the outdoors in as we strive to support both teachers and students. ButterBee Foundation is grown from my love for pollinators, my passion for environmental STEM, and in response to the need for hands-on experiences that connect students to the world around them. All of ButterBee’s programs are carefully crafted to be standards-aligned and shared in a way that is inclusive of all learners. We get kids excited about pollinators, the vital role they play in our ecosystems and agriculture, and the role even the youngest learners are inspired by the steps they can take to protect tomorrow’s pollinators today. Like the bees, we are stronger together! For this reason, I work hard to foster relationships that bring students, families, and communities together. During my 20 years of working in education, I have had the privilege of working with thousands of remarkable educators, students, and communities all over the world, each of which has taught me valuable lessons that I carry with me every day. The support ButterBee, and I, have received is outstanding! I am humbled to have been included in countless opportunities and taken part in uniting generations of compassionate individuals with Earth’s powerful pollinators. I look forward to continuing to go where my wings take me and collaborating with caring individuals to create a world where humans and pollinators thrive. Thank you for taking part in our journey!
