I am an educator and the Executive Director of the Maine Environmental Education Association. I am a cofounder of the Maine Environmental Changemakers Network and serve as a member of the NAAEE Affiliate Advisory.

Erin McCool is the founder of Cool Heron, an environmental literacy consulting organization, with the vision to ensure that all students have access to high quality environmental education experiences that are integrated into their school day.

I am an educator with a passion for conservation, civic action, and environmental stewardship. With over 22 years as an educator, school leader, and consultant, I have developed environmental education curriculum aligned with NC Standards for grades K-12. 

Sr. Education Manager, over School and Family Programming at the Conservation Society of California - Oakland Zoo. UC California Naturalist and Climate Steward instructor, I enjoy spending time outdoors and am currently in a Ph.D. program for Sustainable Education at Prescott College.

 

I specialise in building the capacity of teams to plan, implement, monitor, and report on conservation projects. I have a PhD in Conservation Biology and 20 years experience designing, coordinating, funding, and implementing conservation projects across Asia.
