Interests
As an educator, project coordinator, and STEM/STEAM researcher, I develop innovative learning models that integrate literature with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Serving as a lead and manager in national and international projects under E-STEM, Horizon Europe, and Erasmus+, I focus on sustainable environmental education, digital transformation, and interdisciplinary curriculum design. Through academic papers, book chapters, and hands-on workshops, I contribute to the interdisciplinary educational ecosystem while leading student-centered projects focused on technological innovation, social impact, and sustainability.

Developing innovative learning models that integrate literature with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) within the framework of the Türkiye Century Education Model, Nurdan Özel is an educator, STEM researcher, and Scientix Ambassador leading digital transformation in education through her master's background in Educational Management at Mersin University and her work in information technology. As the coordinator of the "SERUVA – From Salty Soil to Hope" project, which combines smart irrigation and sensor technologies to combat soil salinization in coastal agriculture, she won 1st place in the U.S.-based Global E-STEM Awards 2025 and represented Türkiye as one of the 11 national finalists at Science on Stage 2023 in Finland. In addition to penning the book chapter "STEM Applications in Literature Education" published by the Turkish Ministry of National Education, she has contributed to the academic field through paper presentations at ICERI 2025 (Spain), ICSE 2025, and the ESEP Congress, while actively pursuing international research on climate resilience, nature-based solutions, inclusive education, and art-science integration across Working Groups within the COST Actions SHiFT, NbS-CBSE, LILY, and Artistic Intelligence.
