I teach grade 6 middle school science in a K-8 school. I am also a Teacher Environmental Literacy Leader (TELL) Mentor with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Additionally, I am a certified Master Naturalist and I serve on the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute's Teacher Advisory Council.

As a CBF TELL Mentor, I spend a week or more in the summer on location, working with fellow educators to help them connect outdoor experiences and Bay learning to their classrooms. With the Virginia Master Naturalists, I participate in citizen science, such as monitoring bluebird boxes and doing butterfly counts, community education and outreach, such as tabling at local events, and stewardship activities, such as stream cleanups.
