I am a conservation educator with a passion for connecting people of all ages to wildlife and wild places through meaningful, inclusive experiences. For the past several years, I have worked at Utah’s Hogle Zoo, where I serve as a mentor for the Guest Engagement team. In this role, I train and support new and returning seasonal staff and teen volunteers, helping them develop confidence in public speaking, interpretation, and conservation messaging.
My work focuses on inspiring empathy and curiosity through storytelling and interactive engagement. Whether leading family-friendly programs like BooLights, coordinating volunteer interpretation in exhibits such as Wild Utah, or mentoring staff in developing their own interpretive style, my goal is to help guests see their role in protecting wildlife and natural habitats.
Beyond the zoo, I have over eight years of volunteer leadership experience with the Girl Scouts, where I manage budgets, plan conservation-themed programs, and foster environmental stewardship through hands-on activities. I’ve also worked in education with children and adults of diverse abilities, ensuring that every individual feels included and capable of connecting with nature.
I hold First Aid and CPR certifications, am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Conservation at Unity Environmental University, and continue my professional growth through courses with CollaborNation, NAAEE, and AZA. My long-term goal is to continue developing inclusive conservation education programs that build community connections and empower others to become stewards of the natural world.
