I own and operate a small nature-based preschool out of my home in West Simsbury. I use the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning in our school and go out in all weather, rain or shine!

I have been a preschool teacher for many years. I have worked in the private childcare sector for a large CT based program as a teacher, worked my way up to assistant director of one of their schools, and then spend 6 years as the CUrriculum Director until I left. In that position I wrote a play-based curriculum for all students in CT and trained teachers as part of their onboarding and continued PD. I also worked in a coaching manner to our teachers. When I left I joined a magnet school and worked in the preschool department and also spend time working one-on-one with an autistic 3 year old boy, which was an eye opening and heart warming experience I needed to find my love of teaching again. It was the pandemic and being stuck at home, teaching preschoolers over the computer screen that pushed me to start my masters at Antioch University after reading a book from David Sobel. I finished up my last year at the magnet school in 2022 and started my own small nature preschool form home the following fall. I opened just in time for my youngest daughter to join our first class before her kindergarten year. We are coming up on year 5 and growing slightly this year, adding 3 more enrollment spots and another teacher.
