At WildTeam we believe that every conservationist has access to the skills, knowledge, and network they need to progress their career and make a meaningful difference for our natural world, no matter who they are or where they are from.

We provide conservationists with open access:

  • Knowledge: We create best practices in subjects such as project management and strategy development. These are provided for free as a knowledge base to help all conservationists deliver projects that are ethical and effective. More info here.
  • Skills: We run online and class-based training courses that lead to professional certification in key conservation subjects. These are made accessible through bursaries that cover some or all of the course costs. More info here.
  • Network: We provide an online community of conservationists. This community provides a safe, collaborative space for conservationists to share solutions, collaborate, and support one another’s wellbeing. More info here.

Impact

  • 1,741 skill certificates awarded to...
  • 1,467 conservationists working for...
  • 424 organisations and from..
  • 91 countries

We also measure our indirect impact by conducting an annual online survey to ask alumni how their new skills have affected their conservation work. The indirect impact indicators below are only derived from responses from the 5% of alumni who responded to the survey, so the actual indicator values will be much higher.

  • £2.9 million in conservation funds raised.

  • £12.9 million in conservation funds spent more effectively.

  • 5.25 million km2 of wild areas better conserved.

Every £220 spent on acquiring a new skill results in 3,000 km2 of wild areas being better conserved. The total wild area is equivalent to 21.5 x the size of the UK.
