Help Students Turn Climate Worry into Hope

The Climate Emotions Toolkit for Educators helps you support students through the worry, grief, and even hope that come with climate change. Built by NEEF and the Climate Mental Health Network and tested by real middle school teachers, it offers ready to use activities, a Climate Emotions Wheel, and mindfulness tools for you and your students. A Whole Lot, a new animated music video made with youth artists from Kingmakers Music, Hip Hop Public Health, and the Climate Mental Health Network, brings these same themes to life through music, making it a great way to open the conversation.

The Toolkit is free to download and comes in two parts:

  • Part One covers climate change basics, effective teaching approaches, the Climate Emotions Wheel, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL).
  • Part Two features 10 flexible, standards-aligned student activities along with Mindful Moments—guided breathing exercises and mindfulness tools designed especially for educators to navigate their own climate emotions and confidently engage students in meaningful discussions.
