Beyond Doom and Gloom: Engage Students in Climate Solutions
Go beyond the doom and gloom of climate change to empower students, faculty, and staff to support better climate policies in your state. You’re invited to become a Sustainability Policy Partner through HEASC (the Higher Education Associations Sustainability Consortium). Sustainability Policy Partners connect with state-level climate and environmental organizations and ask to receive policy alerts and civic engagement opportunities. Then the Sustainability Policy Partner periodically sends out information to student groups, faculty, and staff interested in helping with climate change solutions on their campus.
Students, faculty, and staff on university campuses can have a powerful voice informing elected officials about responsible energy and environmental legislation. However, it can feel difficult to know how to get more involved at a state level, and that uncertainty is often what stops passionate campus community members from becoming powerful climate advocates. Sustainability Policy Partners help make campus involvement possible. If you’re interested in your campus having a Sustainability Policy Partner, see state level organizations you can connect with and sign up here. In just a little time each month, you can make a big impact. HEASC will support you through regular check-ins, email templates, and a connection with a network of other Sustainability Policy Partners across the country.
