2027 Yves Rocher Foundation Terre de Femmes International Award
What would become of our cities without trees? They cool our streets, shelter incredible biodiversity, improve air quality, make our cities more pleasant to live in, and build community ties. Yet, urban green spaces remain insufficient. That is why, this year, the theme of our Award is “Trees in the City.” For the first time in human history, more than half of the world’s population lives in cities. According to current projections, two-thirds of humanity could be living in urban areas by 2050.
Ensuring the presence of trees in our cities is crucial to making them sustainably livable and resilient for humans and more-than-humans alike.
