Teaching Climate Justice: Starting October 15, 2024

4-week Asynchronous Course

A 4-week online course that gives all K–12 educators the opportunity to explore the important topics of climate change and environmental justice. Participants explore the fundamentals of climate change, the history of the environmental and climate justice movements, the inequitable impact of climate change on marginalized communities, and ideas and solutions for how to address climate justice. Upon completion, 12 hours of continuing education credit will be offered.

Course Objectives:

  • Explain the fundamentals of climate change, environmental justice, and climate justice.
  • Analyze the inequitable impact climate change has on marginalized communities through various online tools.
  • Explore local environmental justice knowledge.
  • Design a lesson that includes climate justice.
