Are you looking for a unifying nature-based pedagogy for your program? Does your program need to train new teachers in nature-based education? Are you seeking inspiration and community in your teaching practice?

If so, we would love for you to join us at an on-site training in beautiful Leavenworth, WA this October 12 - 16, 2026 at Mountain Sprouts Children's Community, a Cedarsong Accredited school!

Before attending the teacher training, you need to complete the self-paced Cedarsong Way Foundations course, available at cedarsongway.org. This introductory online course covers the basics of The Cedarsong Way Pedagogy: the educational philosophy, foundational principles, and the benefits of forest kindergarten and nature immersion programs.

As a part of the The Cedarsong Way Residential Teacher Training, you will learn about, observe, and practice the distinguishing features of The Cedarsong Way Nature Pedagogy—specifically, unstructured nature immersion, interest-led flow learning, inquiry-based teaching style, child-inspired emergent curriculum, and promoting social and emotional development through a positive reinforcement approach. You will also learn how to make your program a success by understanding the most critical elements of ONB Learning, such as appropriate clothing, building  community, developing the aptitudes of a nature-based teacher, collaborative benefit/risk assessment and documentation of learning.

The Cedarsong Way Teacher Training involves a total of 35 hours of training, including topic discussions, direct observation of a Cedarsong Educators and a Certified Trainer, practicum opportunity, and valuable question and answer time with the cohort and a highly skilled Cedarsong Certified Trainer.

The on-site teacher training costs $1500**
