Since 2009, the Monarch Joint Venture has brought together partners from across the United States in a unified effort to conserve the monarch butterfly migration. This diverse partnership includes federal and state agencies, other nonprofits, community groups, businesses, and academic programs that work together to implement data-driven conservation actions in the form of education, habitat, and science. In 2023, we launched the Monarch NECTAR Hub to bring learning to you! We offer online and live courses that have been taken by people all over North America. Check out our courses to learn about monarchs and how you can become involved in their conservation.

We provide reliable and relevant information that is informed by the latest science and research. Instructors are experienced conservation practitioners and knowledgeable about monarchs, habitat, and more. Course participants have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with MJV staff in the course and via email. Students have access to a plethora of MJV resources including educational handouts, webinars, & more.

Courses that are offered are: Complete Monarch Essentials, Mini Monarch Essentials, Monarch Larva Monitoring Project, Chrysalis Crew (for kids aged 8–12), Integrated Monarch Monitoring Program, Live Mini Monarch Essentials (offered throughout the year), and the North American Monarch Institute (for educators, offered throughout the year in person).
