Indigenous communities have protected and stewarded the lands, water, and natural habitats we enjoy for centuries. Unfortunately, Indigenous people have been violently removed from their ancestral lands, being forced to give up and disconnected from knowledge, traditions, and their inherent connection to the outdoors.

Join the First Nations Development Institute and Rethink Outside™ to honor and spotlight organizations led by and serving Indigenous, Native, and Tribal communities to promote equitable access to the outdoors. By cultivating outdoor experiences through an Indigenous lens, these organizations are supporting thriving Indigenous and Tribal communities and advocating for Indigenous rights.
