I am an experienced sustainability educator, arts-based curriculum designer, and facilitator of ecological, project-based learning. My passion is nurturing curiosity, creativity, compassion, and community through interdisciplinary, place-based education, with a particular enthusiasm for linking science and art. I believe that education should deepen our connections to the people around us and the places in which we live and learn. I am a collaborative and interdisciplinary thinker and learner, and I share this with students, teachers and colleagues. Curiosity is my super power.
I've been working in EE since 2011 when I took an internship with the Minnesota Zoo. That internship inspired me and I began volunteering with the Wesselman Woods Nature Society and became a Master Naturalist. I completed my MS in EE in 2015 and now work with the Fresno Chaffee Zoo as an educator.
I am the Education Coordinator for the WAVE Foundation at Newport Aquarium with a degree in Anthropology. I love sharing inquiry-based learning with guests of all ages, and I am passionate about Conservation (Sumatran Rhinos especially), Climate Change, and STEAM.
