Molly Nation is an assistant professor of Environmental Education in the Department of Marine and Ecological Sciences. She earned her BS. in Biology and Masters of Arts in Teaching from Georgia Southern University. She also holds a Ph.D. in Science Education from The University of South Florida.

Current Career Tech STEM Teacher with 5 years of experience developing and implementing engaging curriculum in environmental education. Adept at leveraging data analysis, community partnerships, and professional development to enhance student learning outcomes, resulting in a 91% proficiency rate. Strong leadership and mentorship skills, focusing on sustainability practices and student environmental literacy. I have moved around a bit but have been living in North Carolina for the past few years. I love animals and hiking and being outside. Marine ecosystems are my favourite to learn about. I am dive certified and love being in the water.

I am a married mom with three children and a grandson on the way. I run a licensed childcare at my home. When I am not working or doing school work, I am an Uber driver for my 12 year old son! I am a lover of all things Disney and enjoy putting together large Lego kits. 

I'm a youth services librarian in North Carolina, and am pursuing Environmental Education certification to learn more about how I can incorporate outdoor learning experiences into teaching at the high school where I work. In my free time, I get outside as much as possible, and especially enjoy trail running, hiking, paddling, and outdoor yoga.

Fostering inclusive cooperation in sharing & re-activating knowledge towards equal access to water for everyone - that is what drives me. I am currently pursuing a Double-Degree PhD at Wageningen University & Research (the Netherlands) and Ghent University (Belgium) with focus on optimizing nutrient budgets for clean water in Europe.
