Jackie Ostfeld she/her

Jackie Ostfeld (she/her) has twenty years of professional leadership experience directing inclusive campaigns and partnerships to secure a just, equitable, and thriving planet for our children and future generations. She has secured major victories to expand outdoor access and equity by building the power to win meaningful and lasting policy change through network weaving, coalition, and grassroots movement building. She is a senior leader at the Sierra Club, the country’s largest and oldest grassroots conservation organization. There, she has led organization-wide efforts to modernize the Sierra Club’s outdoors campaigns and programs, centering equity and justice in all aspects of the organization's outdoors work. As the Outdoors for All Director, she leads high impact teams that advance powerful campaigns, programs, and strategic partnerships to connect children, youth, veterans, and communities historically excluded from the mainstream conservation movement, with the outdoors. Jackie is also the founder and chair of the Outdoors Alliance for Kids (OAK), a national and multi-sector partnership of more than one-hundred businesses and nonprofit organizations united by a commitment to expand equitable access to nature for children, youth, and families.

Jackie’s leadership and coalition building has been instrumental in securing several major policy victories at the federal and state levels, including the establishment of the Every Kid Outdoors program, the Let’s Move Outside initiative, the passage of the EXPLORE Act, Great American Outdoors Act, Every Kid Outdoors Act, Accelerating Veterans Recovery Outdoors Act, inclusion of $1.5B for Urban and Community Forestry Program (Inflation Reduction Act), the New York Outdoor Rx Act, and more. Jackie is an advisor to the Blue Sky Funders Forum, a leadership coach, and spent her early career as a naturalist, teaching children in the outdoors. She resides in Washington, D.C. with her partner, two beautiful children, two cats, and a dog.
