I am a faculty member at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, teaching introductory environmental science classes. I am also a doctoral candidate at UNLV making the final push to finish a dissertation, studying how students use spatial thinking to understand complex environmental problems.

Diane Wood is President of the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), a national organization connecting people to environmental knowledge they can use to improve the quality of their lives and the health of the planet. During her tenure, she has led national events and programs, such as National Environmental Education Week and National Public Lands Day, and is committed to taking environmental education to untapped audiences. Her three decades of experience in environmental education spans formal and non-formal education sectors. Prior to NEEF, Ms. Wood worked in executive capacities for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for 18 years. As a Peace Corps volunteer from 1977-1981, she developed national environmental education programs for Paraguay and co-authored “Conservation Education: A Planning Guide” for the Corps. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including a 10-year presidential appointment to the Enterprise for the Americas Initiative board, and is currently an advisory board member of American University’s Center for Environmental Policy. Ms. Wood has a Master of Science degree in environmental education from Cornell University.
