I am a teacher with a strong belief in environmental education.  We take students camping at least twice each school year, and we have begun to travel to different national parks to allow our students opportunities to explore well beyond their backyards.

I have been an Cleveland teacher for 25 years.  During that time, I have taught all core subjects for grades K-8.  The majority of my time has been as a middle school teacher.  I have been taking students to the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center for over 10 years.  During that time, we have taken over 400 students to camp.  Two years ago, with grants and donations, we were able to take our first group of students to Yellowstone National Park.  Since then, we have returned to YNP with two more groups of students.  Then earlier this year, we had three students invited to work with the Wolf Project in Yellowstone.  During this trip, our students worked with Wolf Project biologists to observe wolves in the field, track wolves using telemetry, hike to a carcass and complete a necropsy.  And in June, we took 12 students to Olympic National Park for a Nature Bridge experience.

It is important to me that my students are given opportunities to experience some of what nature and our world has to offer.
