My name is Savannah Sartin and I am an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at South Caldwell High School in Hudson, NC. I grew up on my family's farm where I still live. My dad actively farms corn, wheat, soybeans, and raises beef cattle. I have loved the outdoors and agriculture from the time I can remember. I took agriculture classes in high school and fell in love with the field and FFA. I love creating meaningful relationships with my students and reconnecting them with nature!

After high school I attended NC State University where I recieved my bachelors of science degree in Agricultural Science. From there I came back home and worked as a Soil and Water Conservationist in my local Conservation District for three years. I loved working with the farmers and helping them correct resource concerns on their properties. I decided I wanted a change and started teaching high school agriculture in the fall of 2022. It has felt like my true calling and I have loved the experience. I currently teach horticulture and most recently added natural resources which has quickly become my favorite. I do my best to reintroduce my students to nature through on-campus outdoor lessons. I often host guest speakers from the natural resources field to encourage my students to keep an open mind about their potential future careers.
