I am starting my 13th year of teaching at Central Park School for Children in Durham, NC. I have a degree in Linguistics from Duke University, and a Masters in Arts in Teaching (ESL concentration) from NC State University. I have taught English as a Second Language, 5th grade, media studies, and intervention. This year I will be teaching 4th grade for the first time. I have experience with Project Based Learning, Arts Integration Peaceful Schools, Mindfulness, outdoor learning, and restorative practices. I am hoping to earn my environmental education certification in North Carolina. I love animals, and teaching about ecosystems and climate change. I have 3 cats, a dog, and a husband who shares my passion for the environment. I enjoy reading (especially historical fiction), watercolor painting, hiking, birding, and visiting museums.
