Oceanic Preservation Society films and curriculum
Oceanic Preservation Society partners at Discovery Education and Vulcan Productions have created four dynamic, interactive classroom lessons that highlight the importance of protecting biodiversity and accompany their film, Racing Extinction. Aligned to Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core State Standards, each lesson features video clips from the acclaimed documentary, bringing the excitement of the documentary directly into the classroom.
Over 44,000 teachers worldwide have downloaded their free teaching guides and shown their films in their classrooms, reaching over 2.5 million school children. Additionally, in an effort to assist teachers during this challenging time, they are now offering free digital screenings of both The Cove and Racing Extinction for grades K-12. Both films are a provocative mix of investigative journalism and eco-adventure that will change the way your classroom sees the world around us. Click here for screening information.
