Youth, Nature-Focused Apps and Nature Connectedness

Hello!

My name is Marie-Léa. I’m a PhD student working on a socio-environmental research focused on youths and young adults' nature connectedness (University of Rennes 2, France).

As part of my research, I am conducting a survey on the use of nature-related mobile apps (bird song recognition, plant identification, biodiversity monitoring, etc.) in educational contexts. More specifically, I am trying to understand the educational practices associated with nature-focused apps and how it may foster (or hinder) nature connectedness among youths and young adults. If you’re an educator or have experience using apps like iNaturalist, Merlin, eBird etc. with students, your input would be incredibly valuable!

The survey is anonymous and takes about 15 minutes to complete. If you would like to share more about your experience, you can leave your contact information at the end of the survey. Otherwise, it remains completely anonymous.

Thank you very much for your time and insights!
