Save The Elephants Movie Premiere Screening

African Elephants on the Masai Mara, Kenya, Africa

Join Mission Wildlife for an evening with Save the Elephants on May 9 at the San Diego Natural History Museum for the San Diego premiere of A Life Among Elephants

This inspiring documentary combines dramatic wildlife footage with the story of the remarkable life of Iain Douglas-Hamilton—a contemporary of researchers Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey. During the 1970s, Douglas-Hamilton conducted pioneering research into elephant behavior and movement and through his work was the first to alert the world to the ivory poaching crisis, bringing about the first global ivory trade ban in 1989.

Traveling from Kenya to be with us in person at the screening will be champions from Save the Elephants, who have committed their lives to preserving these majestic creatures. A Q&A will follow the screening.

The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and includes a screening, Q&A, and a VIP reception with live art by world-renowned artist Stephen Fishwick and delicious bites by Toast Catering. Early-bird tickets available now.

What Your Support Means

Your ticket purchase will help secure a future for wild African elephants by supporting Save the Elephants’ mission to sustain the beauty and ecological integrity of the places they live, and to develop a tolerant relationship between humans and elephants. Africa’s human population is predicted to double by 2050, creating enormous pressures for elephants. It’s crucial that Save the Elephants continues to engage with local communities, government and conservation partners, working toward sustainable ways of protecting elephant habitat and migratory routes, while also reducing conflict. Your support helps them achieve these goals.

Tickets for the screening and reception are limited so we encourage you to act quickly. You can read more about the event here.
