Young Climate Authors Educator Training Program

Online, 8-week, Educator Training course for Young Climate Authors to equip adults to mentor children's climate storytelling. Course starts January 4 2025

This 8-week program equips teachers and non-formal educators to mentor students in writing storybooks on climate change. Course outcomes include an understanding of climate change, climate justice, Project Based Learning, and book authoring, along with a curricular framework to teach the course. The program was incubated through a CEE-Change Grant from NAAEE.—Aneesa Jamal

The YCA Educator Training equips adults to implement the Young Climate Authors Program with children and youth.   The course covers:

  • Teaching climate change and climate justice.

  • Mentoring climate stories.

  • Illustration, design, and publishing.

  • Constructivist teaching and learning. 

Outcomes include a framework for mentoring climate storytelling and a draft climate story. Participants receive a certificate upon successful completion of all course requirements.

The course has a program fee of $125 per person and runs from January 4–February 28, with class meeting from 6:30 PM–8:30 PM Indian Standard Time. Read more and register here.
