Explore space science, Earth’s system, and Earth’s place in the universe with the Wade Institute for Science Education and our collaborating partners the Springfield Science Museum and the Bassett Planetarium at Amherst College! Engage in phenomena and inquiry-based investigations that will bring creativity to astronomy through STEAM. Look through telescopes to put the planets in perspective. Gain access to current astronomy research and inquiry-based STEAM investigations for your classroom. Connect to a community of learners and informal science institutions that can be a resource for you for years to come.

This hybrid professional learning opportunity is an Approved Course for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Accelerating Science: Open Access Professional Learning and is free for eligible Massachusetts educators. Save your spot!  

Registration Information

Dates and Times:

Remote Sessions: Wednesday, January 18th & Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 (3:30 PM – 6:30 PM ET)

On-Site Planetarium Session: Saturday, January 28th (2:00 PM – 8:00 PM ET)

Location: Springfield Science Museum

Cost: $200 per educator or free for eligible MA educators

Collaborating Partners: Springfield Science Museum; Bassett Planetarium (part of the Beneski Museum of Natural History at Amherst College)

Credit: 12 PDPs or 1 graduate credit and 22.5 PDPs for an additional fee
