Environmental Education Outcomes

Students should expect to gain research-based knowledge that can guide them in the creation of their own environmental education programs, the development of a professional network, and the growth of educational practices.

Topics will include:

  • environmental behaviors
  • collective action
  • norms
  • identity
  • self- and political-efficacy
  • social capital
  • positive youth development
  • health benefits of nature
  • academic achievement

The course will utilize pre-recorded lectures, podcasts, readings, social media, and live webinars. Students will have the opportunity to evaluate the goals of their environmental education programs and reflect on best practices. The course will be coordinated by Cornell University.
