Sign On Letter in Support of Strong EE and Climate Ed Programs at EPA

UPDATE: THE DEADLINE TO SIGN ON TO THIS LETTER IS EXTENDED THROUGH FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26.

The flurry of activity continues as we work to elevate environmental and climate literacy, as well as the breadth of our community, before a new Administration and new Congress!

I hope you will join us in requesting that EPA Administrator Designee, Michael S. Regan fully support climate and environmental education and training as he assumes leadership at the Agency. A draft sign-on letter is attached here for your review. You can add your organization to this letter here.

Many of you know that the National Environmental Education Act of 1990 directed EPA to operate an office and related program of rigorous EE including grants, youth awards, professional educator development and research. The attached letter asks Administrator Regan to fully support and seek full funding for this critical EPA program and give it a stronger focus on climate literacy and environmental justice and equity. Over the years, this program has made thousands of grants, supported hundreds of thousands of educators, and recognized thousands of young climate and environmental heroes.

Administrator Regan has a huge challenge ahead and we are hoping to make sure that climate and environmental education for the next generation are seen as high priority by EPA and the Congress.  Here is a sign on form for the letter.

I hope you will join us in supporting this EPA program! Please sign on by close-of-business on Friday February 26th.
