I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and now reside in California. I'm passionate about connecting people with their environment through knowledge of the natural systems that govern the ways in which we lead our daily lives. I'm involved in teaching K-12 students in the Los Angeles area.

I have worked in EE, outdoor play and Forest School programmes with learners of all ages and abilities for 20 years, including delivering professional development training. I have recently completed my PhD, focusing on the participation of young children in classroom and at Forest School.
I am a sociologist and Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies at College of Saint Benedict & Saint John’s University. I specialize in climate and environmental justice, social movements, sustainable development, gender and social inequalities, and qualitative research methods.
