Jason Beale

Jason Andrew Beale is a lifelong naturalist with a transdisciplinary approach to coexistence with the natural world. They enjoy exploring cultural and behavior change in a conservation context.

Jason serves as Animal Care Program Director at Shaver’s Creek, Penn State’s nature center. The program trains emerging professionals in evidence-based care and training for careers in the zoo and aquarium field. The center’s zoo highlights community science initiatives through interactions with the animal ambassadors. Jason is a board member and education committee chair with the International Association of Avian Trainers & Educators (IAATE).

Jason previously served as manager of Abbott’s Mill Nature Center & Milford Millponds Nature Preserve with Delaware Nature Society and as the Farm Naturalist at Aullwood Audubon Center & Farm in Ohio. He is a board member with the Wildlife for Everyone Foundation, developing a physically accessible wetland education center. Jason lives in State College, PA with his family.
