I grew up in Riverside with the Santa Ana River in the background of most of my childhood memories. I was born to be an activist. I stopped eating meat when i was 12. I dedicated an entire college summer to gathering signatures for petitions I believed in, mostly environmental causes. I attended Humboldt State University and I remember as a kid wondering why we polluted our planet. My daughter started a Fridays for Future strike in our town prior to Covid that I helped her manage, and that turned into my invitation to be on the board of directors for a non-profit called Repeat Reuse, which holds repair fairs and jacket swaps, and whose ultimate goal is to have a repair mall (brick and mortar) where we can avoid throwing things away and instead repair or reuse them.
Over the last 20 years, I have worked with both typical students and special needs students. I have owned 3 daycares, and I have always been a strong advocate for a lot of outdoor time and experiences with nature in our early childhood classrooms. Vitamin N! I have a bachelors degree in Business and have enough ECE units to be a director at a preschool.
