I am very interested in obtaining the North American Association for Environmental Education Certification because I want to teach young children to explore and protect our environment. I have participated in various science programs and activities throughout my educational career. I took part in GSK Science in the Summer, the Space Camp Cadette Program, Project Plants (NC State University), the Center for Aquatic Ecology Camp (NCSU), and the Catalyst Program at the Science House (NCSU). These programs have taught me the importance of science in our communities.

My career goal is to teach young children and help them develop a love for science. I’ve worked as a camp counselor at the YMCA of the Triangle for three summers, gaining a lot of hands-on experience working with kids. I also plan to earn my child care certificate in 2026.

I want my teaching to focus on helping students find joy in exploring our planet and understanding why taking care of it matters for the future. My enthusiasm for science comes from my own experiences, especially my weekly volunteering at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Each week, I talk with around 100 visitors at my science cart, sharing science topics and encouraging curiosity and exploration.
