I am originally from Midland, MI. I graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1993. I have three children; my eldest daughter is 26 and in her third year of teaching in Otsego, my other daughter is 23 and in her final year of law school at DePaul, and my son is 4 years old and just started Pre-school! I have spent my entire full time teaching career at Odyssey. As well as being the Social Study Department for the school, I have co-taught an environmental studies class for a number of years. Our school has 81 acres of mixed forest and wetland, so it provides a unique and awesome setting for various types of outdoor education. My class was awarded the 2001 SeaWord/Busch Gardens Environmental Excellence Award for a peer teaching environmental trail tour and activity prgram that we designed. This program saw up to 600 elementary students visit our school each year and be led through a series of educational activities by our high school students.
