Gather and analyze exoplanet data, add your findings to NASA's database, and contribute to real science with Exoplanet Watch. You and your students can become citizen scientists with your own telescope or by requesting existing data to go through. Utilize the recommended free tools to examine data, upload results, and even get a chance to see your work featured in future studies.

What is an exoplanet?

Our solar system is made up of our sun, eight planets, and a whole collection of other celestial objects. And once you go further out, the larger universe is far from empty. The more than 5,000 planets that orbit stars beyond our solar system are referred to as extrasolar planets, shortened to exoplanets.

Help NASA study exoplanets!

That 5,000 number is just scratching the surface of what's out there. Through NASA's Exoplanet Watch, you can help confirm and discover new exoplanets. Citizen scientists taking part will learn about the scientific process from start to finish. And you'll even be credited if your data is used in any future papers.
