My name is Matthew Kwon. I’m a senior at Montclair Kimberley Academy, a high school in New Jersey. I wanted to share an exciting opportunity for high school students.

TerraCycle is the world's largest 3rd party recycling company. We offer free recycling programs for hard-to-recycle waste streams to schools, towns, and nonprofit organizations. Furthermore, schools are able to earn back money and have raised more than $2.2 million for themselves.

In collaboration with TerraCycle, I launched the Student Ambassador Program. This initiative is designed to empower high school students to lead environmental action in local communities. In addition to online training, we are planning to host a series of virtual assemblies where ambassadors can hear directly from environmental experts like company executives and elite professors. We will also host discussions on careers in the impact field, pursuing sustainability in higher education, and networking within the environmental community.

If this sounds like something your students would be interested in, I’d love to share more details. Please let me know if this resonates with you or if you have any questions. Reach out to matthew.kwon@terracycle.com.

Looking forward to connecting.
