New Professional Learning Community for Informal Educators

A logo of a C with a lion, column, and a fish in it with the word CAMZIE next to it.

We’re launching a new community to connect informal educators everywhere. The Community of Aquarium, Museum, Zoo, and Informal Educators (CAMZIE) is a platform to share ideas, swap stories, cheer each other on, and grow together.

As a member, you’ll find a newsletter packed with opportunities, alongside a few core features:

  • A Vibrant Online Forum: Connect with fellow educators from zoos, aquariums, museums, libraries, and other informal settings nationwide. Share best practices, ask important questions, and build lasting professional relationships in a moderated, members-only space.
  • Skill-Building Workshops: Sharpen your skills with professional development sessions available both live and on demand. Our first workshop is coming up on Wednesday, June 24, focusing on the importance of community in professional development. Future sessions will cover educator burnout, equitable evaluation, and building a sense of belonging for visitors and staff.
  • A Robust Resource Library: Access digital resources to help strengthen your professional practice. Find research summaries, strategies for applying them to your work, curated lists of existing resources, and other tools to help you grow as an educator.

This is just a quick peek into all the resources CAMZIE has to offer. If you want to learn more or to register, visit camzie.org. Make sure you sign up for our newsletter as well!
