The Lexus Eco Challenge has inspired and empowered more than 15,000 middle and high school students to learn about the environment and take action to improve it. Students are invited to participate in the fourth annual Lexus Eco Challenge for a chance to win part of $500,000 in grants and scholarships. The luxury car maker has joined with Scholastic, the children’s publishing and education company, to present the Challenge. The Challenge is open to students in grades 6-12 who are registered and home-schooled, enrolled in a public or accredited private school, and are legal residents of the United States or the District of Columbia. Teams can enter if they are part of an after-school science or environmental club, but the Challenge is not open to clubs outside of the school. Winning teams will each receive a total of $10,000 in scholarships and grants to be shared among the students, teacher, and the school. Challenges are related to land & water or air & climate.
