Dr. Claire Warden and Dr. Rachel Larimore are the authors of a new book, Reimagining The Role of Teachers in Nature-Based Learning: Helping Children be Curious, Confident, and Caring. This new resource is designed for early childhood educators--including infant, toddler, preschool, and elementary providers--interested in more intentional use of nature in their teaching.

In the book, Dr. Warden and Dr. Larimore lay out the many roles teachers play when implementing nature-based strategies, and explore the research and theory behind each role, specific language or behaviors of each role in practice, and questions to help educators reflect on their practice.

During a Natural Start webinar hosted on January 22, 2025, the authors shared more about how educators can not only identify, but also embody, their many roles when implementing nature-based strategies.
